American Flatbread (Burlington, VT)

It’s always nice when Trip Advisor steers us right, and this is the case when it steers us to American Flatbread, where the local cider is cold and the pizza is piping hot (a good thing, on a day when the high is around seven degrees). My custom pie (with nitrate-free pepperoni and Thompson Farm maple-fennel sausage) is crisp on bottom and gooey on top — perfection. Clyde’s pepperoni and peppers, for all the similar ingredients, tastes completely different … and is equally yummy.

If you’re in Burlington, American Flatbred is one block off Church Street — and worth the walk, even in crazy weather. Duck inside, snag a seat near the oven, and prepare yourself for a perfect thin-crust pie.
